Noisy Coworkers Can Drive Anyone To Be Stressed
Noisy coworkers are just another burden in the already over-stressed workplace. Just what we do not need! While there might be days when it seems that going ballistic on these courtesy-challenged people would feel great, or where we just want to run away for the afternoon, this is counterproductive to say the least . There are clearly more sensible and helpful ways to deal with these people.
This is why it's best to avoid your "noisy coworkers" as much as possible. There are simple ways around having to avoid these people completely depending on the type of job you have you may be able to listen to music on an mp3 player, or even invest in a greatly deserved pair of ear plugs.
Breaking up the tedium of your day with a long outdoor walk over your lunch break can help to reduce the stress you feel from noisy coworkers. Finally, you may have to politely bring up the issue of the noise level in conversation to get some well-deserved sound relief.
Something that can create a lot of stress at work is the simple "office noise" which we sometimes don't even notice, things like the chair squeaking, phones ringing, clicking keyboards, and having to hear voices of the people who are in the next cubical. One of the main things to keep in mind is if we would be able to locate our personal little happy place during the time that we are at work, and still be able to get the job done in a good manner while everything continued to flow smoothly. For a lot of us it is easier said then done.
There are different levels of the "annoying coworker". There is the coworker that annoys you without realizing they are doing it, this can be solved with a simple polite conversation. Then there is the coworker that goes out of their way to annoy you, yes we all have these, in this type of situation it would be best to avoid the person until their little tirade ends if possible. If you can't avoid the person annoying try talking to them about the situation, sometimes a simple compromise will fix the issue.
If all else fails and you are unable to fix your problem with a "annoying coworker" it is possible you might have to go to the boss to solve the problem, this should only take place after the individual have already been asked once to stop their behavior which is causing interference with you doing your job. Always keep in mind no matter what happens make sure you carry a high professionalism through-out the entire situation.
Noisy coworkers can drive anyone crazy. Some days the work just keeps piling up as the coworkers continue to be loud and distracting. They can be a source of extra stress and reduced productivity. Anyone could be tempted to throw a fit right in their own cubicle. Don't over-react though, since it is not worth it in the end.
